OBSERVATION OF CO2 IN THE FIELD OF ZHANGBEI SHANGYI EARTHQUAKE AND PREDICTION OF SEISMIC TREND AFTER MAIN SHOCK

张北-尚义地震现场CO2测量与震后趋势判断

Abstract: Dynamic characteristics of CO2 at 4 observation sites in the field of Zhangbei Shangyi M 6.2 earthquake are studied by using fast measurement method for CO2.The source of CO2 is discussed preliminarily.The results indicate that no anomaly in CO2 is observed.It is suggested that there is no signal of increase in tectonic stress after Zhangbei Shangyi earthquake.According to the regulation of change in CO2,on Jun.10 and Feb.3,1998 ,respectively,we predicted that there will be little possibility to occur strong aftershocks of Ms≥5.0 in 15 days.The fact indicates that the prediction is correct.It is suggested that the fast measurement method for CO2 will pay an important role in prediction of seismic trend after main shock.

摘要: 利用CO2快速测定法监测了张北-尚义地震现场4个观测点的CO2动态特征,并初步讨论了CO2的来源。结果表明CO2没有明显的异常,故认为6.2级地震之后,震区构造应力没有进一步增强的迹象。因此于1998年1月20日和2月3日两次提出15d内震区发生Ms≥5.0强余震的可能性不大的震后趋势预测意见。事实证明这个判断是正确的。
